Driving Test Do's & Don'ts

Driving Test Do's and Don'ts

When it comes to Driving Tests, everyone has their own way of driving, which means that everyone has different tips that they think will make you a safer driver. Certain do’s, and don’ts may sound obvious but are extremely important in staying accident-free and a safe drive during the test.

Certain do's and don'ts may sound obvious but are extremely important to keep in mind during the test:

Here are Driving Test Dos:

  • Do check the mirror adjustment as soon as you get in the car
  • Do sit comfortably
  • Do wear the seat belt
  • Do keep your distance during the test
  • Do listen to the examiner carefully

Here are some Don't(s) you must know during the test:

  • DON'T use your Phone! In fact, it's best to keep it switched off during the test
  • DON'T interrupt the examiner when he/she is giving instruction. You can ask them to repeat themselves if you did not understand the instruction in the first go, but only after they have finished talking.
  • DON'T assume! You never really know what others are thinking or planning to do, so never assume you can work it out. It is crucial only to move when you directly see the other vehicle turning.
  • DON'T Rush! Rushing will not do you any good and may actually hamper your test results.
  • DON'T Panic! Even if you make a minor mistake, you can still pass.

Don't forget that issues become worse when you panic; you stop thinking straight and make silly mistakes. So, don't panic. UK Driving doesn’t have to be a stressful task, as long as you remember everything that your Driving Instructor would have taught you.
